Game of Thrones season two begins filming

It has been confirmed that season two of Game of Thrones has begun filming and one of the show stars, Peter Dinklage is really looking forward to it. Peter, who plays Tyrion Lannister, has admitted that he has fun playing the character but would not reveal too much about season two.

Dinklage explained, “It’s a really good season this season. My character goes somewhere that he hasn’t been before and I’m not gonna say anything else, but it’s fun to see a character like Tyrion in the world, in the game… the political game. He was on the outside of it and now he’s on the inside. It’s fun what happens.”

Game of Thrones season two is set to be huge following the success of season one. The first season saw love, war, deaths and nightwalkers. Emilia Clarke revealed that she found the sex scenes in season one harrowing. However since her husband Drogo died in the first season, she will have no need to worry about them this time around.

Four Things to Look Out for in "Game of Thrones" Season Two

HBO's Game of Thrones rocked onto our screens earlier this year full of fantasy intrigue, political struggle, incest, mystery and a little bratstard by the name of Joffrey Baratheon. But what lies in store for the second season? Season two follows the timeline of book two A Clash Of Kings, GoTCoK for short. Will we see the much deserved retribution for the Starks or are we just setting ourselves up for more gut wrenching heartache?

With the death of the King of Westeros Robert Baratheon, there is now a struggle over who should follow his rule. On one hand it should pass to his next of kin, which if you follow the Baratheon bloodline, vetoes Joffrey and falls to Stannis Baratheon ( Stephen Dillane) of Dragonstone, who during Robert's rule was the Master of Ships on the Small Council and the next oldest living brother of House Baratheon. While on the other hand there are those who would see Robert's youngest, more kind hearted and more popular brother Renly sieze the Iron Throne. Amidst the fight for power between the remaining Baratheons, the Lannisters still hold rule over the seven kingdoms. Led by his mother Cersei, Joffrey Baratheon watches on with his thin villainous eyes in dismay as Stannis proclaims himself the true King, which, in turn, leaves us with almost everyone thinking they have a claim to the throne and while some claims have merit, most are just a quick play for power.

Alongside Stannis we meet a lady by the name of Melisandre (Carice van Houten ), a red priestess and follower of the eastern god R'hollor, who has the ability to see visions in her fires of things to come. If there is one person you want to keep an eye on this season, this is her.

'Game Of Thrones' Casts for Season 2

HBO’s Emmy-nominated fantasy ‘Game of Thrones’ is gearing up for its second season with a trio of new players. Stannis Baratheon, Davos and Melisandre, all major characters from the George R. R. Martin novels.
Stannis Baratheon
Fresh off three major Emmy nominations for Game Of Thrones, HBO has announced a trio of new cast members. Carice van Houten, Stephen Dillane and Liam Cunningham will join the cast for Season 2.

Easily the biggest player as far as the larger Game of Thrones story is concerned is Dillane, who’ll take the role of Stannis Baratheon. Stannis is the late King Robert’s younger brother (but older than “King” Renly), the true successor that Eddard Stark tried to set on the throne instead of Prince Joffrey.

Stannis rules Dragonstone, where he stews and plots his conquest with the help of his primary adviser, Davos Seaworth, played by Cunningham. Davos is a former smuggler who joined Stannis’ court after breaking a blockade and saving his life.

Back to Work on the Set of Game of Thrones

David Benioff and D.B. Weiss certainly have their hands full with the second season of ‘Game of Thrones,’ raising multiple new realms of Westeros on sets scattered across several real-world countries. Daily Beast reporter Jace Lacob caught up with the guys to find out how the story of George R.R. Martin’s second book was coming together. “For Tyrion fans (and really, who isn’t a Tyrion fan?), season two sees the Imp in fine form, serving as hand of the king and trying to make the best of the chaos in King’s Landing,” Benioff said. “The Stark children struggle for survival, now that Ned’s not around to protect them. And Daenerys Stormborn finds that life in the big city isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.”

Just because this is their second time around the Moon Door doesn’t mean that Benioff and Weiss are having an easier time of it. “Whatever lessons we’ve learned from the first season are mitigated by the increased difficulty of the second season,” Weiss explained. “We have more characters, more locations, more dragons. I wish we could say we’ve found a nice groove and life is easy now, but I still find myself waking up from anxiety nightmares at 4 in the morning.”

A Song Ice and Fire Review

In his commitment to reality lies the greatness of George R.R. Martin. This series is not another epic battle between good and evil. Not even close. There are no members of the Order and no Death Eaters here. What I mean is, we always knew Harry Potter was going to defeat Voldemort. It was just a question of how it was going to happen. We were only along for the ride, but we already knew where we were going. The beauty of ASOIAF is the fact that you don’t know where you’re headed.

No, more like, you won’t even know what direction you’d want to take. And if you’ll forgive my passionate Filipino, putang ina, dalawa pa nga lang na nag-aagawan naguguluhan ka na kung kanino ka kakampi, gawin mo pa kayang ANIM.

Because it’s not another good vs. evil story (and I cannot stress this enough, because this really is the magic of the book), you won’t know which side to root for. There’s a bit (or maybe loads) of good and a bit (or maybe loads) of evil in every contender.

Let us examine that claim, shall we?

Shooting Locations for Game of Thrones Season 2: Croatia and Iceland

Greetings my Ladies and Lords!

It is I, the not-so-wild Wilding here, reporting for duty. During my recent trips to the outer realm (wish I could' have stayed longer… Loving every bit of it, by the way), I had the chance to talk with the director of the Game of Thrones.

He told me that for the second season of the dramatization of our realm will be shot at two different locations: Croatia and Iceland. Just take a look on this picture:

It looked familiar, eh?

The Cersei-Jaime Affair

cersei-jaime1

Jaime and I had been together since forever.

We have shared a womb and came to the world together. When we were young, my father told us that I should marry a rightful king and Jaime would be the strongest knight of the realm.

Jaime in fact is my twin brother but as I get older, my feelings for him started to change – it went to the next level. And from that moment, I already knew that Jaime is MORE than my twin brother. He is my one and only.

We belong together.

Game of Thrones: Main Title Cover

Greetings my Ladies and Lords!

While doing my rounds lurking over the internet, I saw this video. This kid from the other realm is playing a musical instrument called violin. It is a string instrument, similar to harp although the violinist (yes, that’s what the people from the other realm call to a person who plays this instrument) has to rub a bow with strings of horsehair attached to it.

Wonderful cover of Game of Thrones originally composed by Ramin Djawadi

I cannot fathom how he managed to put multiple videos on one video my Ladies and Lords but all I can say is, I am stunned with the boy’s talent.

Just click the ‘play’ button and listen.

Goosebumps.

Enjoy my Lords and Ladies!

Bran Stark: Life After the Fall

I never thought that my life would be different after I fell from the tower, or shall I say, when a stunningly handsome yet evil man pushed me from the tower.

It seemed that I slept for an eternity.

But no, the moment I woke up from a terrible nightmare, my mother was there, still weeping. I do not understand why. I am still alive. For seconds, I just stared at the ceiling, thinking of what to do next.

And then it dawned on me.

Greetings, my Lords and Ladies!

I welcome you to this innovative yet humble abode of the Game of Thrones!

My name is Renz and I am one of the vicious Wildings who lived beyond The Wall. Since majority of The North is not mapped yet, I have devised a new system that would determine the precise topographical characteristics beyond The Wall. It may sound absurd, my Ladies and Lords, but let me tell you one thing: I may be a Wilding; I may lurk and hunt for dire wolves within the frigid cold The Haunted Forest but I am more creative and more intelligent than you are.

I had the chance to acquire some of the advanced technologies available from another realm that you are not aware of. This is just one of my ways to keep in touch with the other realm; to be aware of our existence. And oh, believe it or not my dear Lords and Ladies, they have actually created a drama based on our realm! The funny thing was, they didn't know that WE actually existed!

I have already sent some of my allies to the south to bring you this kind of innovative technology. In the other realm, they send messages to their friends in just a few clicks. They receive messages in just an instant. I suggest that we adapt this kind of technology in order not to waste precious time of waiting for our messages to come. Take note that in the other realm, crows were never used as a mode of communication.

This thing that they call "blog" will allow us to view the latest happenings in King's Landing, Winterfell and other kingdoms. Moreso, I'd want to show what the other world looked like and some updates about their drama about our realm.

That is it for now, my Lords and Ladies. I do hope that you won't have any second thoughts about my offer.

It's for your own good, my Lords and Ladies.
